Rhythm and Movement
When students move their bodies to music, the whole body becomes the instrument. This makes playing guitar seem effortless! Rhythm and movement exercises are included in every lesson.
The voice is our first instrument and we carry it with us everywhere we go! Students will learn several ways to sing each song. This makes the learning more real and helps students auto-correct when they play the same song on their guitar. We will sing using solfege, note names and note numbers.
Until we have mastered the basics of guitar technique, we will learn our pieces by ear. Every lesson will include pre-reading exercises to prepare students to eventually read music while playing.
